Take a Lesson with Our Teaching Pros!

Sunrise Pickleball Club has partnered with some fantastic local instructors in order to provide lessons to members. You will find them on Court 7 during designated days/times.

Instructors are donating 10% of their proceeds back to the club, and volunteering their time to teach the club's free Pickleball 101 clinics.

Brian Newman is an IPTPA certified teaching pro who has been playing pickleball for over 7 years and teaching for 4 years. He has trained with some of the top pros, including Scott Moore and Sarah Ansboury, and has won gold medals at the 4.5 level. He is known for his technical skills and encouraging words.  He is sought out for his knowledge on the soft game and teaches patience and smart play.

Kelly Andrews is an IPTPA certified teaching professional. She started playing pickleball at SPC in 2018. She comes from a tennis background and taught Iyengar Yoga for 20 years, including UC Riverside Teacher Training Program and owning The Little Yoga Studio in Lake Arrowhead, California. She emphasizes high-percentage play through shot selection and proper mechanics to create a solid foundation.

Alex Chan is a Level II IPTPA certified teaching professional who has been playing since 2020 and competing at the 5.0 level, thanks to prior experience with badminton and table tennis. Her favorite aspects to teach are strategy and playing smarter pickleball. She previously played college basketball and coached high school varsity girl’s basketball before making the transition to pickleball.

Julie Marsh is an IPTPA certified teaching pro who enjoys coaching beginners to 3.5 level players. She teaches individually or groups, specializing in drills, positioning, and strategy.

Her favorite pastime is traveling to various pickleball tournaments around the country.
